What is alt for?

when your path is wrong the alt take the place of the pic and you write a words that remind you about the pic 😁😁😁

"alt' is for "alternate text", a string which replace the picture if the file can't be loaded ( or waiting to be loaded / or be in a text browser / or be display desactivate ).
This string is also used for display tooltip when mouse cursor is not moving and on top on the picture and mostly for giving description to blind people...
So, this attribute is hardly recommanded by Html5 specifications ^^
