Hacking encompasses all of computer sci & then some. The hacking methodology can (is) applied to essentially all forms of technology. With so many things to hack, many hackers have specialties and tend to branch out. You can hack web apps, cars, IoT devices, Industrial Control Systems, radio communications, and the list goes on. Now, generally people start with learning the community standard tools like Nmap, Metasploit, hping3, the Social Engineering Toolkit, and so on. As far as programming goes, I think it's important to learn what languages apply to the skill you're trying to learn at the moment (like if you're learning about SQL injections it'd be good to learn SQL), but you should start with a general purpose programming language that is syntactically simple: I recommend Python; Ruby is also good, especially if you take a liking to the tool Metasploit. So, first learn the basics: get some programming under your belt, and learn about some basic networking, hardware, and software concepts. The rest is up to you; above all else have fun. Hacking is much different than just learning a branch of computer science, it's more like an interdisciplinary art form.
