As long as you breathing and blood flows in your vessels, You have the capacity to do what you really want to do if you believe in yourself and your abilities. All of your small steps towards your personal growth and development (including programming) add up and give you a tremendous power to overcome any barrier in your life. Always keep this quote in your mind by John Bytheway.
“Inch by inch, life's a cinch. Yard by yard, life's hard.”

Dear Stacey
It is an honor for us to have you between us. You are a good model of a person who are still hungry about improving your stuff. Being a no matter what person is a key for a life full of achievement and victory. Good luck, my friend.

Hi fabrice
To boost your morals , I am 54 of age and have a mechanical degree, retired presently.
I am hoping to become a good programmer very soon. :-) .
You are a young man in comparison ,and have a much better chance if you apply yourself.
You can find very good courses in algorithms, program development ,java and many other languages in www.edx.org check it out.
Best of Luck

37-->38 here ;)
Man, it all comes down to the level of your determination and self-discipline. You definitely have a different learning pattern now, being mature and experienced, than you had 20 years ago.
Fortunately, the logic of code changed slightly if at all during all this time ;) There are some cool new languages now which are really easy to comprehend. So many web tutorials you can take sips from...
Not knowing much about Java, I made a simple "Simon says" for Android (still not my kind of fun, but worth a shot ;)
It is definitely doable. Just ask yourself if you have the time to spend :)

Ask again when you reach 90. You will still be able to learn.

Sure! It's never too late to pick up something new that you're interested in.
I believe the good folks here will provide you plenty of useful suggestions! 😉

Why not? 36 years old is a young age.

Learning process will never stop. Learning not limit by age. Age just a number.

The best answer is yes, but you should do some research on the most efficient point of entry into the industry you want to enter.
For example, the blockchain technology industry is booming and as many people are integrating the blockchain with new technology, you might find it less saturated and challenging to get involved. This would mean you could jumpover other languages and focus specifically on the ones that would most benefit you in that market Python, Unity code for gaming and so on.
I know some will say you have to learn this first and that first and I am also sure there were people that told Jimi Hendrix he needed formal training and to stop playing his guitar upside down and backwards.

I am 54 and relearning programming. I took Web design and development in college (2004-2010), but could not get a job because I had no experience outside of class.
