If you love programming show it your mum with your actions rather than words.Let why her see why you'll be more successful as a programmer than a lawman

all the best for you, your studies and your coding future, good luck

also, identify why you mother prefer for you being a lawyer than a programmer and find countermeasure arguments that would make her change her mind
If possible with examples you found on the net or you have in your relatives so that she trusts you

I can help.
I was in a similar situation 15 years ago. I loved learning about computers and didn't know exactly what I wanted to do with them but was very interested. Unsure, I followed mom's advice to become a teacher because I'm great at helping people learn pretty much anything. Your parents know what's best for you right?
In some and most cases, yes. but look where I am...here on Sololearn.

do what you are made of and dont get into dilemma and one if you really want to do CSE just go for it and dont turn back what ever it take and never get into a situation like "that mom was right about me i should have done law" or if you think mom was right then do whatever mom says and same as dont bring situation like " i should have done what my mind says SO finally what ever you choose just go for it and never ever turn back.. GOOd lUcK..

Interesting... I wasn't aware of a law major. In the United States, you have to complete your 4 year undergraduate degree in pretty much any major. Then you must take a test called the LSAT before applying to law school. The LSAT is an incredibly difficult exam that tests your logical skills with complex scenarios. This test is not based on academic knowledge. I took a practice version of the LSAT and scored quite high. I believe this was because I had been programming several years by then which really sharpened my logic skills. 😎
Perhaps this is similar in your country. If so, you could argue that majoring in computer science will prepare you for the LSAT equivalent for law schools in your country. This would give you time to decide if you might be interested in law as well. Or maybe your mother will come around by the time you finish your undergraduate degree.
Either way... good luck!

Tell your mom your interest and then listen to her interest then you definitely get your way of your future. All the best and one thing always remember mom always want their childrens happy that's it

Why do you Want to learn computer science?, note computer science and programming and two different things but they are very very related, you can be a programmer without having a CS degree, if programming is your passion you can do it anytime but not CS, like me am a maths major but just love programming, i write programming lang during my spare time, "Computer science is theoretical, it takes a scientific and mathematical approach to information and it's computation. Computer programming is practical, it is the process of designing, writing, testing, debugging, and maintaining the source code of computer programs. They are different, but related fields." so you have to choose what you really want am not telling you to go against your mother nor follow her advice, jes check your real reason "do i like computer science or do i like programming? " opps the answer became too long.
