is there something I'm missing?
I feel like there's some information I'm missing, or like there's something I should know before attempting to learn these programming languages. It feels like I'm missing things because of the fact that there are so many terms mentioned in the tutorial that are not explained, like the learner is supposed to know what they mean already. is there something I should be doing first? or am I just dumb/not suited for programming?

Take your time.
The courses are written so that everyone can start from scratch...-ish. You should at least know or understand what basic programming concepts mean - a variable, a code, a syntax, a sequence and so on. Those are building blocks of all languages - you should at least comply with the fact that they exist :)
Also, feel free to ask any coding-related question here. There are no stupid questions ;)

I guess it's fine as long as my lack of knowledge about what those terms mean won't affect my progress
