Like most things, learning to program is not going to be a simple path. I've learned Python a couple of times and it has taken me some time to realise my best learning method. Keep learning and you'll get there some day! :)

If you don't understand anything, you won't understand what I have to say.

As for what Thomas said, think of it like working out your body. If you think you're going to get ripped in a week, you won't and aren't. It takes time, dedication, and a lot of effort to become great. ALL of us here started out with not understanding, but if you stick to it, it'll be easy as pie one day.
